PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
Ramzi Qawasmy (Landsdale, Pa.) of the Providence College men's soccer team was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's Players to Watch list for defenders on Tuesday, August 9.
Qawasmy started in each of the 20 games he played for the Friars and logged 1,893 minutes in the backfield during the 2021 season. The defender helped the team compile seven shutouts on the season while holding opponents to an average of less than 10 shots per game. To conclude the season, he was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team and the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team.
The lists are being released for the first time this season by the Division I All-America Committees to promote college soccer leading up to the official start date for the regular season later this month. The lists include United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and first or second team All-Region players from 2021, who are scheduled to return for the 2022 season.
