Ava Brandt scored the lone goal for the Friars.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team defeated Colgate University, 1-0, in its 2022 season-opener on Thursday, Aug. 18 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. Senior Ava Brandt (Chester, N.J.) scored the lone goal for the Friars with an assist by graduate student Elayna Grillakis (Lowell, Mass.).

GAME FLOW & NOTES
-Brandt scored her second collegiate goal for the Friars in the 14th minute of the game from the left side of the box. Grillakis earned the assist with a cross pass.

- Goalkeeper Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) did not face a single shot on goal and earned her first shutout of the season.
