PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College Athletics hosted the Vision Cup presented by Santander Bank on Thursday, May 12 at the Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn.

The sold-out event consisted of a round of golf and the opportunity to meet Men's Basketball Head Coach Ed Cooley and members of the men's basketball coaching staff. All the proceeds from the event will go to support the men's basketball program.

"After two years of unconventional golf outings, it was great to have everyone together and celebrate the success of our men's basketball program," Senior Associate Athletic Director Steve Napolillo said. "I want to thank Santander Bank and all the alumni and fans who came out to make this event such a success. The events this week will yield more than $200,000 to support our men's basketball program and ensure that we are continuing to compete at the national level."

On Wednesday, May 11, some men's basketball donors were hosted at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y. for 36 holes of golf.  Following golf, former Providence Head Coach Rick Pitino, Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach Nate Leaman and Cooley met the golfers for a reception.

"I want to thank all the Winged Foot members for hosting us today," Cooley said. "This was the Friar Family on display at its finest and I am already looking forward to coming back next year."

Kerry Anderson '88 and Karl Anderson '88 hosted a Friar Family Welcome Party at their home in Riverside, Conn., to kick off the week on Tuesday, May 10.  Over 30 families of incoming freshman from Westchester and Fairfield Counties attended and had the opportunity to meet their classmates as well as have their picture taken with Ed Cooley, the 2022 Men's Basketball BIG EAST Regular Season trophy and the 2022 Naismith Coach of the Year trophy.

"It was such a great night to share the Friar spirit with some of our incoming students and their families," Senior Associate Dean of Admissions Amy Cembor said. "We are grateful to the Andersons for opening their home to members of the Class of 2026!"
