CHICAGO, ILL. – The Providence College women's basketball team found themselves on the wrong end of a 36-11 score after the opening 10 minutes of play on Sunday, Feb. 6 as DePaul claimed an 88-67 victory at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill.
1ST QUARTER:
• DePaul came out of the gates quickly to earn a 23-2 lead just 5:05 into the game.
• The Friars shot 5-16 from the field in the opening 10 minutes (.313), while DePaul converted 14-22 shots in the first quarter (.636), including a 7-10 effort from beyond the arc.
• At the intermission, DePaul was on top, 36-11.
2ND QUARTER:
• The Friars went toe-to-toe with DePaul in the second quarter, but were unable to make up ground as the Blue Demons outscored Providence 21-20.
• Providence used a 7-0 run to trim the Blue Demon's lead to 22 (46-24) with 3:46 on the clock.

Janai Crooms paced the Friars with 11 points in the frame on 5-8 shooting.
• Providence shot 53-percent in the second quarter (9-17), while DePaul converted just 9-25 from the floor (.360).
• DePaul took a 57-31 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
3RD QUARTER:
• DePaul started the third on a 7-0 run to get out to a 33-point lead.
• The Blue Demons took their largest lead of the game (72-35) with 2:54 showing on the clock.
• Providence trailed 76-42 at the break.
4TH QUARTER:
• Providence outscored DePaul 25-12 in the final frame, including a 9-2 run over the final 4:28 of play.
• The Friars managed to get as close as 19 (86-67) with under a minute to play on the strength of a 9-0 run.
• Oliva Olsen scored eight points in the fourth quarter on 4-7 shooting, while Geary added seven points.
• Providence shot 53-percent from the field in the quarter (9-17), including 3-5 from three-point territory.
• DePaul was held to 29-percent shooting in the final 10 minutes (5-17).
NOTES / HIGHTLIGHTS:
• Crooms scored a team-high 19 points for Providence to go along with six rebounds and one blocked shot.
• Geary tallied 17 points in the game, as she shot 7-13 from the field, including 1-2 from beyond the arc. She also registered six rebounds, one assist and one block.
• Olsen scored eight of her 10 points in the fourth quarter. She also contributed a team-high eight rebounds and recorded two assists and one blocked shot.
•
Nariah Scott matched her career high with six rebounds, and has recorded at least five rebounds in each of the last four games. She also has started each of the last three games for PC.
• DePaul held a slim advantage on the glass (41-39).
WHAT'S NEXT:
• The Friars will host a pair of BIG EAST opponents next weekend at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. On Friday, Feb. 11, Providence will face Butler at 7:00 p.m. on the BIG EAST Digital Network via FloSports. The Friars will close the weekend with a Noon tip against Xavier on Sunday, Feb. 13 on FS1.
