STORRS, CONN. – The Providence College women's basketball team fell to No. 3/3 Connecticut, 98-53, on Dec. 2 at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn. Providence fell to 6-3 (0-1 BIG EAST), while the Huskies improved to 6-0 (1-0 BIG EAST).
1ST QUARTER:
• UConn got out to an 8-0 lead 2:42 into the action, forcing a Friars timeout.
•
Kylee Sheppard got Providence on the board at the 6:18 mark (10-2).
• The Huskies held a 29-8 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter.
• The Friars shot 21-percent in the opening 10 minutes (4-19), while the Huskies connected on 86-percent from the floor (12-14).
2ND QUARTER:
• The Huskies scored the first eight points of the quarter to gain a 37-8 advantage.
• Providence outscored UConn 12-3 over the next two and a half minutes to get within 40-20.
• UConn closed the quarter with a 14-5 scoring advantage to take a 54-25 lead into the locker room at the half.

Brynn Farrell (eight) and Sheppard (seven) combined for 15 of the Friars' 25 points.
• Aubrey Griffin paced the Huskies with 15 points, while Azzi Fudd added 13.
3RD QUARTER:
• For the third-consecutive quarter, the Huskies started the action with an 8-0 run (62-25).
• Connecticut led by as many as 40 (69-29).
• Providence closed the quarter with an 11-7 scoring advantage to make it a 76-40 game heading into the fourth.
4TH QUARTER:
• The Huskies outscored the Friars 22-13 in the fourth to claim a 98-53 victory.
NOTES:
•
Grace Efosa reached double figures for the second-straight game and fourth time this season, with 11 points.
•
Logan Cook also reached double figures in the scoring column with 10 points and added a season-high eight rebounds.
• Sheppard finished the night with nine points and Farrell added eight points.
•
Janai Crooms matched her season high with seven assists and added four points and four rebounds.
•
Olivia Olsen contributed eight points and eight boards.

• The Friars continue BIG EAST play against No. 25/RV Villanova on Sunday, Dec. 4. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 1:00 p.m. at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I.
