Kendall Eddy, Sophi Hall, Sahana Kanagasabay and Bella McLaughlin will attend Providence in the fall of 2023.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women's basketball Head Coach Jim Crowley announced today [Nov. 9] that four student-athletes have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Providence College and compete for the Friars, beginning in the Fall of 2023. The list of incoming players includes Kendall Eddy (Havehill, Mass.), Sophi Hall (Carver, Minn.), Sahana Kanagasabay (Surrey, British Columbia) and Bella McLaughlin (Hampden, Maine).

"This group fits how we play," Crowley said. "They will bring really good work habits and come from great families and programs. They have all shown skills that will help our program and the ability and willingness to keep improving."

Eddy, a 5-7 guard, currently attends Brooks School and played AAU ball for Rivals (Mass.). She has helped guide Brooks School to two NEPSAC Championships during her career. As a junior, she averaged 15.8 points, 8.0 assists, 5.0 steals and 4.0 rebounds per game.

"Kendall is a playmaker," Crowley said. "She can create for herself and for her teammates. She loves to compete and work at her game. Kendall has really good range and a solid first step, which makes her really tough to defend in space."

Hall, a 6-1 shooting guard, currently attends Holy Family, where she eclipsed the 1,000-point career milestone as a junior. In 2021-22, she averaged 15.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 blocked shots and 1.7 assists per game. She played AAU for the Minnesota Fury.

"Sophi is someone who can really extend the floor with her range and continues to improve," Crowley said. "She plays at a very good pace and uses her length well. She comes from great programs and has a lot of versatility on both ends of the floor."

Kanagasabay, a 5-11 guard/forward, currently attends Fleetwood Park Secondary School and played AAU basketball for BC United. During her junior season at Fleetwood in 2021-22, she averaged 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

"Sahana is an exciting athlete who has good length and the ability to guard multiple positions," Crowley said. "She is very solid in transition, can get to the rim and passes the ball very well. Sahana plays very hard and gets better every time we see her."

McLaughlin, a 5-6 point guard, currently attends Hampden Academy. During the 2021-22 season, she averaged 19.2 points, 4.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game. She competed on the AAU circuit with the Maine Firecrackers.

"Bella is a true point guard," Crowley said. "She can set the tone with her ball pressure, effort and toughness. She puts her teammates in good positions and delivers the ball on time. We see Bella as someone who will always put the team first and do anything she can to help the program be successful."

The Providence Friars recently opened the 2022-23 season against Dayton, picking up a 69-60 victory to start the year 1-0. The Friars return to action on Friday, Nov. 11 against Stonehill College. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I.
