PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College Preseason All-BIG EAST selection Janai Croom was named to the league's weekly honor roll on Monday, Nov. 21. It marks her first weekly conference honor of the season and fourth of her career with the Friars.
 
In three games last week, Crooms averaged 22.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. She recorded 20+ points in two of the Friars' three games and shot a blistering .690 from the field (29-42). 
 
To start the week, Crooms recorded 24 points (11-16 FG), four rebounds and five assists against Rhode Island (Nov. 14). She followed with 18 points (8-10 FG), nine rebounds and one blocked shot at Iona (Nov. 17). In the Providence's most recent game, Crooms put up a season-high 25 points (10-16 FG) against Boston College and added six boards, four assists and one steal.
 
Providence College (3-2) will return to the court on Nov. 25-27 as hosts the Friar Thanksgiving Classic at Alumni Hall.
