PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's basketball team defeated Southern New Hampshire University, 91-43, on Oct. 25 in an exhibition game played at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. Sophomore
Olivia Olsen (Niskayuna, N.Y.) paced all players with 23 points and nine rebounds.
1ST QUARTER:
• The Friars held a 16-9 lead at the first media timeout of the evening (4:37).
• The Penmen scored nine-straight out of the break to take an 18-16 lead.
• Olsen scored four unanswered for the Friars to close the quarter, giving her a game-high nine points through 10 minutes of play.
• Providence owned a 20-18 lead at the intermission.
2ND QUARTER:
• The Friars started the started the second quarter on an 8-0 run, forcing a SNHU timeout with 5:54 on the clock (28-18).
• The run ballooned to 20-0 as the Friar defense held the Penmen scoreless in the second, giving Providence a 40-18 lead at halftime.
• Olsen paced all scorers in the first half with 15 points on 7-7 shooting from the field.
3RD QUARTER:
• Olsen opened the scoring to take a 42-18 lead, but SNHU answered with its first field goal of the game since the 2:12 mark of the first quarter.
• Providence outscored Southern New Hampshire, 23-17, in the frame and took a 63-35 lead into the fourth.
4TH QUARTER:
• The Friars scored 28 points in the fourth, marking their highest scoring quarter of the game (28-8).
• The Friars were fueled by 5-7 shooting from three-point territory in the fourth.
NOTES:
• Olsen hit her first eight shot attempts in the game and finished the night 10-12 overall.

Kylee Sheppard (Cincinnati, Ohio) completed the night with 14 points and a game-high five assists.
•
Nariah Scott (Holden, Mass.) and
Brynn Farrell (Ortley Beach, N.J.) each tallied 10 points.
• All 10 players who saw game action scored at least one point in the game, including 32 points from players off the bench.
• Providence held a 43-24 edge on the glass and outscored the Penmen, 13-2, in second-chance points.

• The Friars officially open the 2022-23 season on Monday, Nov. 7 against Dayton. The game will be played at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I.
