PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's soccer team defeated the Butler Bulldogs, 2-1, on Saturday, Oct. 15 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I.

- The Friars grabbed an early lead after Gil Santos (Parede, Portugal) hit the bottom right corner of the net during a sliding attack in the 8th minute.
- The Bulldogs responded in the 43rd minute after a header from Kyle Hagerman for the equalizer.
- Providence attempted six shots in the first half and landed four on goal, six different athletes were credited for the attacks.
- Ramzi Qawasmy (Lansdale, Pa.) gave the Friars the 2-1 lead early in the second half after converting on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute.
- Providence added two additional shots in the second half.
- The Bulldogs held a 6-4 corner kick edge over the Friars.
