Friars will play the Red Raiders in the BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle at the Dunk'.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The BIG EAST and the Big 12 conferences announced the dates and matchups today (June 2) for the third year of the BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle. The Friars are scheduled to host Texas Tech on Wednesday, December 1 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The time of the game will be announced at a later date.
The Friars are 1-0 all-time versus Texas Tech. In the only meeting between the two teams, Providence defeated the Red Raiders, 53-52, in the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu on December 30, 1977.
The Friars have posted a 2-0 mark in the BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle. In 2019, the Friars defeated Texas, 70-48, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Last year, Providence traveled to TCU and earned a 79-70 win.
