PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's tennis team was defeated by St. John's, 6-1, in Sunday afternoon at the PC Tennis Courts. The Friars fall to 1-9 overall and 0-3 in BIG EAST competition.
St. John's claimed the doubles point to begin the match, earning 6-3 and 6-2 wins out of the No. 1 and No. 2 slots, respectively.
Julia Migliorini earned a hard-fought 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win out of the No. 1 slot to earn the lone point for the Friars.
Haley Gurski and
Emmie Lindholm battled through three sets in their matches, but St. John's held on to claim five of the six singles contests.
Providence is back in action on Monday (April 19) at Holy Cross beginning at 3:30 p.m.
