Providence’s 5-1-0 record is the best in program history since 2010.
Providence, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team blanked the Villanova Wildcats, 4-0, on Sunday, March 14 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. Hannah McNulty scored the eventual game winning goal in the 20th minute. McNulty now has 53 career points, ranking her sixth all-time in Friars All-Time Scoring Leaders. The Friars improve to 5-1-0 overall, marking the best record in program history since 2010 and 3-1-0 in BIG EAST play. The Wildcats drop to 1-6-1 overall, 0-3-1 in BIG EAST play.

GAME FLOW & NOTES -Providence controlled the pace throughout most of the first half.
-The Friars had 10 total shots, five on goal in the first half. The Wildcats only had five shots, two on goal.
- In the 20th minute, Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) took a volley off of a Mara Rodriguez (Rochester, N.Y.) shot to put the Friars up 1-0. This is McNulty's second goal of the season.
-In the 34th minute, Kyla Gallagher (Farmington, Conn.) found Grace Murphy (Penfield, N.Y.) streaking up the left side who crossed it in to Samantha Adams (Northport, N.Y.) who finished the pass scoring with her left foot to the right side of the box.
-Elayna Grillakis (Lowell, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season in the 70th minute. Anna Kalooski (Greene, R.I.) crossed the ball into the box for Grillakis who scored in the bottom right of the net. Providence held the lead, 3-0.
-The Friars continued to attack and scored their fourth goal in the 82nd minute. Gallagher passed the ball up to Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass.) in the open field where she took a few touches around the goalie and beat the keeper to score. This marked Hughes' second goal of the season and Gallagher's second assist of the game.
-Providence held the advantage in shots, 21-6, and shots on goal, 11-2.
-The Friars improve to 5-1-0 overall, marking the best record in program history since 2010
-Providence now has four shutouts this season.
