Men's Soccer Ranked 16th In Final United Soccer Coaches Poll

The Friars advanced to the NCAA Third Round for the fourth time in program history.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – United Soccer Coaches released the final postseason rankings for NCAA Division I men's soccer today [Dec. 14]. Providence College men's soccer was ranked 16th in the final national poll.
 
Providence finished the 2021 campaign with a 12-5-4 overall record, including a 5-2-3 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. The Friars qualified for their 20th BIG EAST Tournament, claiming the No. 2 seed and a First Round bye. Providence advanced to the BIG EAST title game, where it fell to top-seeded Georgetown, 2-1, in overtime. 
 
The Friars' postseason run continued in the NCAA Tournament for the 11th time in program history, where the squad advanced to the Third Round. Providence defeated Marist (2-0) and No. 14 seed and defending NCAA National Champion Marshall, 2-1, in double-overtime before falling to No. 7 seed Georgetown, 4-1.
 
Providence College finished the regular-season schedule with a No. 18 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll, which was released on Nov. 9. Providence was ranked inside the top-25 of the poll for eight-consecutive weeks to close the regular-season.
