Both teams were scoreless through opening 20 minutes.
Mireille Kingsley (Sudbury, Ontario) recorded 10 saves as the Friars outshot the Eagles 13-10.
Boston College's Abby Newhook scored 7:48 into the second period to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario) got the Friars on the board, 1-1, with a power play goal at 17:08 into the second period. Bochna was assisted by
Hunter Barnett (Caledon, Ontario) and
Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) to send the Friars into the second intermission tied.
The Friars and Eagles were unable to break the tie in the third period and the teams entered overtime with Boston College leading in shots, 41-34, through 60 minutes.
Abby Newhook notched her second goal of the game to give the Eagles the win at the 1:24 mark of overtime.
Kingsley finished the night with 40 saves and a .952 save percentage. This marks the second consecutive night the sophomore recorded 40 or more saves in net.

Next weekend the Friars will hit the road for Hockey East matchups against UConn and Maine. Providence will play the Huskies in Storrs, Conn. on Friday, Nov. 19 at 6:00 p.m. before playing the Black Bears in Orono, Me. on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 2:00 p.m.
