PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's swimming and diving team hosted the University of Rhode Island on Nov. 10 at Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I. URI won the meet, 149-112.
The Friars were led by multi-event winners
Grace Erickson and
Jennifer Bankes.
Erickson earned a first-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:10.18. She captured her second win of the evening in the 400-meter free, finishing in a time of 4:35.48.
Sophia Roche claimed an individual victory in the 50-meter backstroke (31.57), while
Kathryn Presley paced her competitors in the 100-meter backstroke with a winning time of 1:17.92.
Bankes touched the wall ahead of the field in the 50-meter freestyle (27.63) and went on to win the 100-meter free (1:00.70).
The Providence College men's and women's teams will return to the pool on Nov. 19-21 as part of the Harold Anderson Invitational in Kingston, R.I.
