PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- It was announced today (Oct. 25) that Providence College senior midfielder
Kevin Vang (Cranston, R.I.) was named to the BIG EAST Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll. Vang scored the game-winning goal with 3:41 left in regulation in the Friars' 2-1 win over UConn on Saturday, Oct. 23. With the win, the 16th-ranked Friars (9-2-3/5-1-2) clinched a berth in the BIG EAST Tournament. The Friars are currently in second place in the league standings with 17 points. The Friars trail first-place Georgetown, who has 21 points, with two games remaining in the regular season.
Vang, who attended Cranston East High School, ranks ninth on the team in scoring this season with two goals and two assists for six points. His six points are a career season high. He has seen action in all 14 games this season. For his career, Vang has appeared in 62 games and has recorded 15 points (three goals, nine assists).
The Friars will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 30 versus Villanova at 7:00 p.m. at Providence College.
