NEWTON, MASS.– The Providence College swimming and diving teams open their 2021-22 season at the New England Catholic Invite. The meet was hosted by Boston College and was comprised of seven women's teams and six men's teams. The Friar men finished in second place with 718.5 points. With 525 points, the women finished in third place. The highlight of the meet for the Friars came on Friday night as sophomore Will Layden set a program record in the 50 yard freestyle (20.63).
