Austin Aviza recorded his third straight shutout.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's soccer team took down Seton Hall, 1-0, on Friday, Sept. 20 in the team's BIG EAST home opener. Paulo Lima (Lisbon, Portugal) scored the game-winning goal in the 26th minute.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- In the 26th minute, Joao Serrano (Evora, Portugal) crossed the ball off of a cornerkick to Lima on the back side of the eighteen-yard box. Lima finished the play on a header to the top left of the frame right over the keeper's hands to put the Friars up 1-0.
- The Pirates were not able to get a shot off in the opening 45 minutes of the game.
- The Pirates had their first real chance to score in the 63rd minute, off a free kick. Sean MacLeod shot a dagger from the top of the box that was tipped away by a diving Austin Aviza (Medway, Mass.) to keep the Friars ahead.
- Aviza made four saves in his third-consecutive shutout.
- The Friars outshot the Pirates by a 12-5 margin.  

HOW THEY SCORED
1-0 (PC) – 25:23/1stPaulo Lima (Serrano) – Serrano crossed the ball off of a corner kick from Danny Griffin (Whethersfield, Conn.) that Lima headed in on the back side of the eighteen-yard box.
