PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's tennis team was shutout by BIG EAST foe Villanova, 4-0, on Friday afternoon at Centre Court in East Providence, R.I.
The doubles point was up for grabs with the Friars holding match points on courts No. 2 and No. 3, but the Wildcats rallied out of the No. 3 slot to secure the doubles point. Villanova seized control of the match with straight-set victories from the No. 2, 3 and 5 slots.
Aidan Epstein had forced a third set in her match prior to Villanova securing the victory on court two.
Providence is back in action on Sunday, April 7 at home against Assumption College and will honor
Risa Takenaka on Senior Day.
