For the second-consecutive season, tri-captain
Jacob Bryson was recognized with the Len Ceglarski Individual Sportsmanship Award given by the league to one player who has consistently demonstrated superior conduct and sportsmanship on the ice. Bryson is the third Friar to win the award since its inception in 1991-92, joining Jon DiSalvatore (2001-02) and Ross Mauermann (2013-14). The junior also was named a Second Team All-Star, earning all-star recognition for the second-consecutive year after matching his totals from 2017-18 with four goals and 21 assists.
Tri-captain
Vincent Desharnais was named the '47 Brand Best Defensive Defenseman after posting career-high in goals (5), points (12) and plus-minus (+23), while also blocking 54 shots. It was the first time a Friar has earned the award since its inception in 1998-99.
Junior forward
Brandon Duhaime makes his Hockey East All-Star team debut, earning Third Team recognition after posting career-highs in goals (10), assists (19), points (29) and game-winning goals (3). Duhaime was the first Friar to record multiple playoff overtime goals after scoring the winner against Boston College last Friday in Game 1 of the Hockey East Quarterfinals against Boston College.
Jack Dugan becomes the first member of the program to earn a spot on the Hockey East All-Rookie Team since Jon Gillies in 2012-13. Dugan leads all Hockey East rookies in points (37) and assists (27), while adding 10 goals in his freshman campaign. His 27 assists are the most by an NCAA freshman this season. Dugan was also a back-to-back Hockey East Rookie of the Month winner in October and November and two-time Hockey East Rookie of the Week honoree (Nov. 19, Mar. 4).
Senior goaltender
Hayden Hawkey earned his second career all-star team selection after being recognized with honorable mention accolades. It's been a milestone season for Hawkey, who set program records in career shutouts (15), single-season shutouts (7), career wins (70) and career games played by a goaltender (122). This season, Hawkey has posted a 1.89 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage while being named a semifinalist for the 2019 Mike Richter Award as the most outstanding goaltender in NCAA men's hockey.
Wilkins boasted his best season while at Providence, recording his third-consecutive season of 30-plus points. In 2018-19, he has totaled career-highs in goals (16), assists (24), and points (40) while becoming the 53
rd member of the program to reach the 100-point mark. The junior also had an NCAA-long 13-game point streak earlier this season (7-12-19) from Nov. 10 through Jan. 15. His is the seventh forward in Providence College history to earn First Team Hockey East All-Star honors.
