EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's tennis team fell to the University of Rhode Island, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon at Centre Court in East Providence, R.I.
The Friars' No. 3 doubles tandem of
Grace Goyette and
Natalie Pitocco earned a 6-4 win in their match, but the Rams claimed the doubles point with a 6-0 win over
Haley Gurski/
Aidan Epstein and a tight 6-4 win over
Risa Takenaka/
Sera Satkowski.
Freshman
Mimi Dailey notched the team's lone singles win, claiming a 7-5, 5-7, 10-3 win from the No. 6 slot. Gurski also forced a three-set match from the No. 4 position but couldn't pull out a win after narrowly dropping a 10-8 decision in the third set.
