EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's tennis team was defeated by Hofstra University, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at Centre Court in East Providence, R.I.
The Pride swept the doubles sessions with 6-4, 6-1, 6-4 wins over the Friars' duos.
Mimi Dailey forced a third set in singles play out of the No. 6 slot, before ultimately falling 6-2, 6-7, 3-10.
Risa Takenaka battled hard in the first set of her match, but Hofstra's Allejandra Ruffini scored a 7-5, 6-1 win.
Providence returns to action on Saturday, March 2 at Bryant University at 7 p.m.
