Hartford, Conn. –
Klisman Sousa (Sal, Cape Verde), who recently completed his senior campaign with Providence College men's soccer, has signed a professional contract with Hartford Athletic, as announced by the club today (Feb. 21).
Sousa started all 18 games that he played this past season. He was a staple in the Friar backline that accumulated nine total shutouts. He logged 2,412 minutes and recorded one assist. Throughout his career he posted one goal and six assists for eight points. He was named to the All-BIG EAST Freshman Team in 2015 and to the All-BIG EAST Second Team for his performance in the 2018 campaign.
Hartford Athletic, a member of the United Soccer League (USL), will participate in three preseason matches against Miami FC, Orlando City B, and Eastern Florida State College. Hartford Athletic's Inaugural Season kicks off March 9 with home opener slated for May 4.
