PROVIDENCE, R.I. – United Soccer Coaches announced its regional teams on Monday, Dec. 2. Shelby Hogan (Franklin, Mass.) earned third team recognition as the lone Providence College player making an appearance on the All-East Regional teams. This marks the second-consecutive season that Hogan was named to the All-East Region Third Team.
Hogan lived up to the expectations this season after being named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team as well as the BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year. She was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week two times this season on top of earning Providence's first BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year award at the conclusion of the 2019 season. She was selected to the All-BIG EAST First Team after being selected to the All-BIG EAST Second Team the previous two seasons.
Hogan started all 20 games in net for the Friars this season, tallying 1,887 minutes. She posted five shutouts with a career-high 110 saves. She allowed 23 goals for a 1.10 goals against average, accompanying a .827 save percentage. Hogan's 110 saves ranked her first in the conference and 14th in the NCAA.
United Soccer Coaches serves as the recognized leader in naming All-Region and All-America soccer players. United Soccer Coaches selects All-America teams at every level of play. Nearly 800 players each year are named United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and are invited to the convention to be honored at a special luncheon.
