GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Courtney Correia put the Terriers up 1-0 just 1:29 into the game. She got a pass from Natasza Tarnowksi at the top of the crease and tapped it in for her second goal of the year.
-
Christina Putigna (Grimsby, Ontario) made it 1-1 just a few minutes later. Her intended pass from below the goal line bounced off of Corinne Schroeder's skate and in.
- Putigna's goal was her ninth of the year and put her just one point away from 100 career points.
-
Giana Savastano (Mapleville, R.I.) picked up her fourth assist of the year on the play.
- BU scored a pair of goals 28 seconds apart in the final 1:30 of the first period to take a 3-1 lead into the locker room. Mackenna Parker and Tarnowski were the goal scorers for the Terriers.
- The second period featured the first power play of the game for each side. Providence capitalized on the Terriers' power play, scoring a fourth short-handed goal of the season.
-
Ariane Julien (Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec) played strong defense and was eventually able to chip the puck down the ice. Schroeder came out to the top of the circle to play the puck, but sent it right into
Cassidy MacPherson (Oakville, Ontario). She corralled it and fired a shot into the vacant net to make it 3-2.
- Providence began the third period with 1:53 of carryover power play time. The Friars got two shots through, which were saved by Schroeder, and had three shots blocked by defensemen.
- Deziray De Sousa scored on the power play for the Terriers with just under eight minutes remaining to bring the lead back to two goals. She was assisted by Tarnowski, who finished with three points, and Abbey Stanley.
- The Friars had 1:12 of 5-on-3 action late in the third period but were unable to convert.
-
Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.) finished the game with 20 saves for Providence. Schroeder made 32 for the Terriers, including 17 in the third period.
