GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Sammy Davis scored twice in the span of a minute to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead a little over halfway through the first. Jesse Compher earned the primary assist on both goals and Breanna Scarpaci picked up a secondary assist on the second tally.
- Maureen Murphy (Buffalo, N.Y.) scored with 1:04 remaining in the period to cut into BU's lead. Murphy tucked away her own rebound for her 20th goal of the season.
- She became the first player in the nation to reach 20 goals this season.
- Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) tied the game just 1:14 into the second period. She picked up the puck at the top of the zone, passed to Meaghan Rickard (Coventry, R.I.), got a return pass and buried it from the weak side.
- Hjalmarsson's goal was her seventh of the season. Rickard's assist was her ninth.
- Providence received a penalty for too many men on the ice at the 8:27 mark of the second period. Just after that penalty expired, Emma Wuthrich scored for the Terriers. Her shot from the point snuck through traffic and passed a screened Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.).
- Abbey Stanley and Deziray De Sousa assisted Wuthrich's goal, which was her second of the season.
- Hayley Lunny (Bedford, N.Y.) tied the game for Providence at the 9:54 mark of the third. Avery Fransoo (North Battleford, Saskatchewan) and Annelise Rice (Excelsior, Minn.) earned assists on the goal, which was scored off a rebound in front.
- BU regained the lead once again with less than seven minutes to play. Nara Elia got a pass at the top of the crease and put it past Myers for her sixth goal of the year.
- The Terriers tacked on an empty-net goal with 13 seconds left to play. De Sousa scored it for her third point of the game.
