The Providence College Women's Tennis team wrapped up their weekend road trip with a loss to Siena College in Albany, N.Y. today, Feb. 4th. Although the Friars put in a strong effort, they fell to the Saints, 5-2.

The Friars won the doubles point after a strong 6-3 victory by senior Katie Marvin and freshman Lauryn Jacobs on court 2. Junior Risa Takenaka and sophomore Aidan Epstein added a 6-0 win on court 1. In singles, Takenaka scored the only win, 6-4, 6-1 on court 1. Freshman Grace Goyette had a strong performance in singles 6, losing a hard fought match 7-6 (4) 7-5.

Head coach Jakob Klaeson said, "It was a tough match today. We got a great doubles point. We're really showing a lot of improvement in doubles and we competed really well in every singles match. At the end of the day, you just have to say that Siena was better than us."
The Friars split the weekend after a win over Saint Peter's University. The team returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 17th, at 10:45am as they welcome BIG EAST rival Butler to Centre Court in Riverside, R.I. Free T-shirts will be available to all fans in attendance (while supplies last).
