Women's Soccer Earns NEWISA All-New England Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) announced its All-New England team selections on Dec. 13. Katie Day (East Kingston, N.H.) was named to the All-New England First Team while teammates Kayla Steeves (Needham, Mass.) and Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) were named to the All-New England Second Team.
This season, Day was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team, All-BIG EAST First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Second Team. Day started every game for the Friars this season and scored the game-winning goal against Marquette on Oct. 7. She helped the Friars to an 11-6-3 record.
Steeves, an All-BIG EAST Second Team member for the second-consecutive season, tallied two goals and three points on the season to accumulate seven points. She finished fourth on the team in points. McNulty had a breakout season for Providence, scoring 10 goals and four assists for 24 points, which earned her a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team. She led the team in points and recorded 84 shots. She scored four game-winning goals on the season, three in non-conference play and one against Villanova (Sept. 9).
