PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Colin Miller (Bel Air, Md.) of the Providence College men's soccer team was invited to the MLS Player Combine, as announced by the league on Dec. 13.
The Combine is scheduled to take place from Jan. 3-9 at Orlando City Stadium in Orlando, Florida. It takes place ahead of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, which is scheduled for Jan. 11.
Miller, the Friars' starting goalkeeper for the past three seasons, started all 19 games in net during the 2018 season. The redshirt senior logged 1,778 minutes and tallied nine shutouts. The nine shutouts broke his personal record for shutouts in a season. Overall, Miller held a 1.06 goals against average and a .720 save percentage through the season. Entering the season, Miller was tabbed Preseason BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year and named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. During the season, he earned SMU All-Tournament Team, Capitol City Classic All-Tournament Team, Capitol City Classic MVP and BIG EAST Second Team honors. He was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Third Team at the conclusion of the season.
This is the third straight season that Providence College men's soccer will be represented at the MLS Combine. The last two seasons,
Mac Steeves and Julian Gressel have gone to the MLS Combine.
