PROVIDENCE, R.I. – It was announced today that
A.J. Reeves (Roxbury, Mass.) of Providence College men's basketball was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. The Friars' lone game of the week came on Nov. 24 when they defeated Iona, 91-79, in the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
Reeves scored 20 points when he shot 8-12 from the field, including 4-7 from three-point territory versus Iona. Reeves leads the team in three-point shooting, converting at a 50 percent rate (15-30). He also leads the team from the free-throw line (11-14, 78.6 percent). He is the top scoring freshman in the BIG EAST (14.7 ppg) and he ranks second on the team in that category. The freshman has started all six games this season for the Friars.
Reeves also was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Nov. 12.
Providence hosts Fairleigh Dickinson at the Dunkin' Donuts Center tomorrow, Nov. 27 at 8:30 p.m. The game will be aired on FS1.
