Justin Viotto has been named BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week. The freshman was a key component to the Friars winning effort at the Harold Anderson Invitational.

Justin Viotto (Morristown, N.J.) had record-breaking performances in the 200-yard Butterfly and the 400-yard IM at this weekend's Harold Anderson Invitational and recorded 87 points to help lead the Providence men to a victory. Viotto's 1:50.20 time in the 200-yard butterfly broke the previous school record set by
Sebastian Melendez in 2018 (1:52.49). The freshman also broke John Fatigati's 2014 record in the 400-yard IM with his 4:00.70, previously set at 4:01.06. The Morristown native was also first to the wall in the 500-yard freestyle (4:34.84).

The Providence College Friars return to the pool on Nov. 30 at Winter Nationals in Greensboro, N.C.
