Madison Myers made 24 saves in her third shutout of the season.

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Providence College women's hockey defeated the University of Vermont, 2-0, at Gutterson Fieldhouse on Sunday, Nov. 11.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Vermont outshot Providence 10-6 in the opening period. Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.) stopped all ten shots she faced.
- Midway through the middle stanza, Maureen Murphy (Buffalo, N.Y.) was able to break the stalemate. Avery Fransoo (North Battleford, Saskatchewan) played the puck to Murphy, who skated up the boards and beat Melissa Black, low glove side. Meaghan Rickard (Coventry, R.I.) picked up the secondary assist.
- Murphy now has a four-game point streak. She's scored goals in three of those four games.
- Following the goal, the Friars maintained momentum. Providence had a power play opportunity with a few good chances shortly after the goal and ended up outshooting Vermont 15-7 in the period.
- Christina Putigna (Grimsby, Ontario) extended the Friars' lead at the 12:44 mark of the third. Her power play goal, which came as a wrist shot from the high slot, was assisted by Emily Landry (Orangeville, Ontario) and Fransoo.
- Fransoo has registered an assist in each of the Friars' last three games. She now has six helpers this season. The game marked her first multi-point outing of the season.
- Putigna is currently on a four-game point streak. She's scored in the Friars' last three games.
- Myers made 24 saves in net in her third shutout of the season. She now has 10 career clean sheets.
- Black also made 24 saves in net for Vermont.
