PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's soccer team earned an exciting 1-0 result against No. 15 Georgetown on Sunday, Oct. 15 in Providence, R.I. Today's game was the final regular season game for the Friars in Providence, R.I. The Friars will hit the road for their final regular season matches against Seton Hall (Oct. 22) and Creighton (Oct. 26).

GAME FLOW & NOTES
1st Half

  • The Friars got on the board first against the Hoyas on a transition goal volleyed into by Christina Klaum (Rockville Centre, N.Y.).
  • Goalkeeper Shelby Hogan (Franklin, Mass.) kept the Friars ahead on two critical saves during the half.
  • Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) provided an offensive spark on the counter attack throughout the half, including an important play to lift the Friars to a 1-0 advantage.
  • Georgetown's Rachel Corboz tested the Friars back line and led the Hoyas with four shots on the half.
  • In the closing minutes, Juliana Pellegrini (Rockville Center, N.Y.) just over played a breakaway chance to Casey Estey (Kensington, N.H.).

2nd Half

  • The Friars held the Hoyas scoreless in the second half with an impressive defense effort.
  • McNulty and Estey tested Georgetown's Schechtman with one shot each on the game.
