On Thursday, Sept. 29 the women's soccer team with host Xavier University in Providence, R.I. at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.

Scouting the Musketeers
The Musketeers enter Thursday's match with an overall record of 6-4-1 and 0-1-0 mark in the BIG EAST. Xavier opened BIG EAST play against DePaul University on Sept. 25 and were defeated 5-0.

Over 11 games, Xavier has tallied 17 goals from eight different Musketeers. Sophomore Samantha Dewey leads the Xavier attack with five goals and four assists for 14 points on the season. Dewey is followed by senior Tori Doss and junior Kenadie Carlson, with eight points.

Senior goalkeeper Rachel Piccus has appeared in 10 games with eight starts, for an overall record of 4-2-1. The senior has made 37 saves over a total of 680:54 minutes in net. Piccus has recorded two shutouts for a goals against average of 1.59 and save percentage of 0.755.

Scouting the Friars
The Friars enter the match with a 6-3-2 overall record and are 0-0-1 in BIG EAST record after a double overtime draw against then-No.6/3 Georgetown University on Sept. 25. Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) received BIG EAST goalkeeper of the week on Sept. 26 after shutting out the Hoyas for the first time in BIG EAST play since Oct. 11, 2015. Shea made seven saves in the match.

Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) and senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) lead the Friars each with 11 points on the season. Hiller has notched five goals and one assist, and Ugolik has recorded four goals and three assists.

Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea has recorded 61 saves over 1157:22 minutes of play and recorded seven shutouts on the season. The senior's goals against average is 0.86 and save percentage is 0.847. Shea has received BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors twice in the 2016 season (Sept. 5 and Sept. 26).

Season Awards
Sept. 26: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after a shutout against then-No.6/3 Georgetown University.
Sept. 19: Senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after a 2-0 weekend with Friar victories over Central Connecticut on Sept. 15 (3-1) and Massachusetts on Sept. 18 (3-0). The forward was tied for most points on the weekend in the BIG EAST on two goals and two assists.
Sept. 5:Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST goalkeeper of the week after a shutout weekend against both Boston University and Colgate University.
Sept. 5: Junior Juliana Pellegrini (Rockville Centre, N.Y) received BIG EAST honor roll recognition after scoring three of the Friars' seven goals on the weekend.
Aug. 29: Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring both of the Friars' goals against Northeastern and Maine, respectively.
Aug. 22: Sophomore Katie Day (East Hampstead, N.H.) earned BIG EAST Honor Roll after notching her first career goal on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute against then, No. 10 Rutgers.

Up Next
The Friars will travel to Butler University for a match on Sunday, Oct. 2 for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff in Indianapolis, Ind.
