PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College Cross Country programs both remained ranked in the latest USTFCCCA regional rankings. The women remain first in the Northeast, while the men fell to the fifth positon.

The women are coming off of a dominant performance at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown Invitational which saw the Friars take the three through seven spots with a miniscule seven second difference between their first runner and their fifth. Providence also placed their entire top seven runners in the top 20 of the meet.

The men also competed at the Coast-to-Coast Invitational, placing second behind fellow Northeast school, Dartmouth. While the men overtook No. 5 Arkansas, the loss to Dartmouth hurt the Friar men, moving the team from second in the region to fifth.

The Friars return to action on Sept. 30 for the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
