BETHLEHEM, PA. - The Providence College field hockey team defeated Lehigh, 1-0, in non-conference action on Sunday, Sept. 18 in Bethlehem, Pa. Providence improves to 6-2 overall and has won six of its last seven games.
Senior Kali Kilmer (Wayne, Pa.) scored the Friars' lone goal in the 48th minute of play. It marked her fourth goal of the season and came off of a scramble in front of the cage after a penalty corner.
Junior goalkeeper Megan Guilbert (Morganville, N.J.) recorded her second career shutout with one save for the Friars.
Providence held a 21-3 advantage in shots during the match, including a 10-1 edge in shots on goal. The Friars also led the Mountain Hawks in penalty corners, 10-3.
Providence returns to action on Friday, Sept. 23 against BIG EAST foe Villanova. The game will be played at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. and is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
