Rider answered back in the 9th minute to tie the score, 1-1, as Daane Koch blasted a reverse stick shot from the top of the circle to the low, left corner of the cage. Koch's goal was unassisted.

Houle put the Friars on top (2-1) with her first goal of the afternoon in the 23rd minute. Junior Megan Hamilton (Warrington, Pa.) was credited with the assist as she fed Houle at the right post for tip-in. Providence took its one-goal advantage into halftime.

Houle tallied her second goal of the afternoon in the 50th minute of play as she tipped in a direct shot off a penalty corner. Junior Abby Thornton (West Pittston, Pa.) and senior Emily Humiston (Pittsburgh, Pa.) were credited with assists.
