Friars vs. Maine, The Series: The Friars have posted an 11-1 mark all-time ver- sus Maine. All 12 games have been played in Providence at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. In the rst meeting ever between the two teams, Providence defeated Maine, 75-73, on November 25, 1978. In the most recent game between the two teams, the Friars defeated the Black Bears, 94-70, on December 21, 2013. The Black Bears' only win in the series came on November 21, 2000 when Maine earned an 80-71 victory.
Scouting The Black Bears: Maine enters the game with a 4-7 mark. The Black Bears were picked to nish ninth in the Preseason America East Poll. The Black Bears are led by junior guard Wes Myers, who is averaging a team best 14.7 points per game. Andrew Flemming is third on the team in scoring (9.5 ppg) and leads the squad in rebounding (5.7 rpg).
Friars vs. America East: The Friars have posted a 56-6 record all-time versus teams from the America East Conference, including a 2-0 record this season.
