PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's soccer team will host BIG EAST foe Marquette on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. The match will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) via Fox Sports Go.

Scouting the Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles are 7-5-2 overall and 3-1-0 in the BIG EAST heading into Sunday's match. Marquette is currently 41 in the NCAA RPI rankings as released by the NCAA on Oct. 3. Golden Eagles Molly Pfeiffer and Carrie Madden lead the team attack with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Junior Morgan Proffitt was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after scoring and leading the Eagle's back line to a shut-out victory over St. John's, 2-0 on Oct. 2.
Freshman goalkeeper Maddy Henry has recorded 51 saves in 14 games. Henry ranks fifth in the league with a 1.30 goals against average and fourth in the league with a .729 save percentage.
Scouting the Friars
The Friars own a 9-3-2 overall, including a 3-0-1 BIG EAST record after a road win over the Villanova Wildcats (2-0 on Oct. 6. Providence sits second in the BIG EAST as of Oct. 6 and tops Marquette in the NCAA RPI rankings, at 40. The Friars have not lost a match since Sept. 11 against Harvard University, 3-1. Providence has outscored its opponents, 24-12, in the 2016 season.
Senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) leads the Friars with 15 points on six goals and three assists. Ugolik has lifted the Friars to victories with three game winning goals. Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) ranks second in points for the Friars (13) on six goals and one assist.
Three-time BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week, Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) leads the BIG EAST in saves (73), ranks third in goals against average (0.810) and fourth in save percentage (.859). Shea is currently tied for fifth in nation among NCAA division I goalkeepers in shutouts (8), according to NCAA statistics as of Oct. 6.
Season Awards
Oct. 3: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) earned her third BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week award of the 2016 season as announced by the league. Shea finished the weekend 2-0, after a win over Xavier University, 2-1, and a 1-0 win over 2015 BIG EAST Champions Butler University.Sept. 26: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after a shutout against then-No.6/3 Georgetown University.
Sept. 19: Senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after a 2-0 weekend with Friar victories over Central Connecticut on Sept. 15 (3-1) and Massachusetts on Sept. 18 (3-0). The forward was tied for most points on the weekend in the BIG EAST on two goals and two assists.
Sept. 5: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST goalkeeper of the week after a shutout weekend against both Boston University and Colgate University.
Sept. 5: Junior Juliana Pellegrini (Rockville Centre, N.Y) received BIG EAST honor roll recognition after scoring three of the Friars' seven goals on the weekend.
Aug. 29: Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring both of the Friars' goals against Northeastern and Maine, respectively.
Aug. 22: Sophomore Katie Day (East Hampstead, N.H.) earned BIG EAST Honor Roll after notching her first career goal on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute against then, No. 10 Rutgers.
