VILLANOVA, PA. - The Providence College men's swimming team returned to the pool for their first meet of 2016 on Saturday Jan. 16 at the Pavilion Pool Complex in Villanova, Pa. The Friars were defeated by the Wildcats, 122-80.
Senior Zach Begnaud (Natchitoches, La.) took first place in the 500y freestyle (4:51.03) and second in the 1000y freestyle.
Freshman Ryan Tremmell and junior Kurt Grunder (Binghamton, N.Y.) finished first and second, respectively, in the 200y breaststroke with times of 2:17.15 and 2:21.70.
Freshman Jonathan Batista (Southboro, Mass.) placed second in the 200y backstroke (1:59.69).
The Providence College Friars swimming and diving team returns to action against the Connecticut College Camels in Providence, R.I. on Monday Jan. 18 at 12:00 P.M. ET in the Taylor Natatorium.
