Catarina Rocha Named BIG EAST Athlete Of The Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced on Tuesday, September 29, that Providence College women's cross country junior Catarina Rocha (Peabody, Mass.) was named BIG EAST Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Rocha earned the honor after her third-place finish at the Coast-to-Coast Battle In Beantown on Sept. 25. Rocha helped the team to a dominating performance in Boston, winning the team title with just 42-points over the 5km distance. Rocha sat in the chase pack for the majority of the race. Heading into the last loop of the course, she moved from seventh place up to third to cross the line in a time of 16:53.9.
The Providence women's cross country team will be back in action on Oct. 10 at the New England Championships in Franklin Park, Boston, Mass.
