Sarah Beal Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College junior guard Sarah Beal (Matthews, N.C.) was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Nov. 30 for her performance last week in victories over Hartford and Monmouth. Beal earns Honor Roll status for the first time this season, and second time in her career.
Last week, Beal led the Friars in scoring (16.5 ppg) and rebounding (5.5 rpg) and ranked second among her teammates in assists (5.0 apg). She shot 0.522 from the field (12-23), including 0.600 from three-point territory (3-5). She started the week with 12 points, six assists and five boards in the Friars' first win of the season against vs. Hartford (Nov. 25). She followed with a season-high 21 points, six boards and four assists in a victory over Monmouth (Nov. 28). It marked her first 20+ point game of the season, and sixth of her career.
Through five games, Beal is averaging 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. Prior to the 2015-16 campaign, she was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team by the league's head coaches. It marked the second-straight year she earned preseason conference honors.
Providence (2-3) returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 1 against Albany at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played at SEFCU Arena in Albany, N.Y.
