Sarah Collins Named BIG EAST Athlete Of The Week

NEW YORK, N.Y. - It was announced on Tuesday, October 20, that Providence College women’s cross country senior Sarah Collins (Basil, Switzerland) was named BIG EAST Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Adidas Wisconsin Invitational on Oct. 16. The honor marked Collins first recognition this season. It is also the last BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor for the 2015 season.
Collins found herself finishing in eighth-place (19:50.8) in Madison. The race was the biggest NCAA race of the season outside of the NCAA Championships. With the eighth-place finish, Collins has now finished in the top-10 each time she has competed in the race.
Collins and the Friars will return to action when they compete for a BIG EAST Championship title on Oct. 31 in Mason, Ohio.
