Swimming and Diving Falls to Seton Hall

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Providence College men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Seton Hall on Saturday, Nov. 1 in South Orange, N.J. The men's team lost 181-93, while the women were defeated 177-103.

Freshman Katherine Fallon (Warren, N.J.) earned two first-place finishes for the women's team in the 1000y freestyle (10:41.74) and the 500y freestyle (5:08.66). She also took second in the 200y freestyle (1:57.43). Freshman Abigail Belisle Haley (Yarmouth, Maine) finished first in the 100y freestyle (55.30), and second in the 50y freestyle (25.31) and 100y butterfly (59.66). Senior Moira James (Olney, Md.) placed second in the 100y backstroke (1:01.95), while sophomore Sarah Burrous (Methuen, Mass.) earned second in 1m diving with 194.75 points. Senior Leia Federiconi (Williamsville, N.Y.) took second in both the 100y breaststroke (1:08.50) and 200y breaststroke (2:32.23), while sophomore Helen Smith (Belmont, Mass.) earned second place in the 400y IM (4:43.29) and 200y backstroke (2:09.41) events.

On the men's side, senior John Fatigati (Mahwah, N.J.) took first in the 400y IM (4:09.81), second in the 200y backstroke (1:58.34), and third in the 100y backstroke (54.65). Senior Justin Tse (Framingham, Mass.) placed second in the 100y freestyle (49.62) and third in the 200y freestyle (1:48.01). Sophomore Zachary Begnaud (Natchitoches, La.) took third in the 1000y freestyle (10:21.62) and second in the 400y IM (4:29.33). Freshman Charles Sabaitis (Spring Lake, N.J.) placed third in the 50y freestyle (22.67).

The women's team competes next when they take on the Rhode Island Rams on Tues., November 11 at 6:00 p.m. in Providence, R.I.
