No. 8/11 Providence College men's soccer team fell to Butler, 2-0, in Indianapolis, Ind. on Nov. 2. With the loss, the Friars fall to 10-3-2 (5-1-2 BIG EAST) on the season, while the Bulldogs move to 6-6-5 (2-4-2 BIG EAST).
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute of the game. Butler's David Goldsmith shot the ball into the left side of the net off of a Charlie Constantino assist.
At the half, the Friars trailed the Bulldogs 1-0.
Butler extended its lead to 2-0 at 52:13 after Vincent Mitchell shot the ball into the left side of the net. He was assisted on the play by Jeff Adkins.
After 90 minutes of play, Butler had the advantage in shots, 16-14, while Providence had the advantage in corner kicks 9-2.
In net for the Friars, red-shirt senior Keasel Broome (Claymont, Del.) registered three saves, while the Bulldogs goalkeeper Eric Dick registered five.
The Friars are back in action for their final BIG EAST regular season game at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7 at Creighton in Omaha, Neb.
