Women's Cross Country To Compete At New England Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

The Providence College women's cross country team will race at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass., on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the New England Championships. The team's top-six runners will not compete at New England's as they will run the following weekend at the Adidas Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, Oct. 17. However, other members of the team will run in both the varisty and junior-varisty (JV) races at the championships.

Captain and senior Julie Solimine (Haverhill, Mass.) and junior Molly Keating (Rehoboth, Mass.) will lead the Friars at Franklin Park. Joining Solimine and Keating will be seniors Devyn Pryor (Dartmouth, Mass.) and Caile Kohlbrenner (Sparkill, N.Y.), junior Kathleen Powell (Wrentham, Mass.), sophomore Jillian Fanning (Manlius, N.Y.) and freshman Caitlin Lawlor (Concord, Mass.). These seven ladies will all race in the varsity race.

The two other Friars who will step up to the line on Saturday are sophomore Sarah Hammond (Essex, Conn.) and freshman Delina Auciello (Mastic, N.Y.). They will race in the JV race.

The women's 5km varsity race is set to go off at 11:45 a.m. and the junior-varsity 5km race is sch eduled for a 11:00 a.m. start.
