Providence fell in the first set, 25-15. Trzeciak tallied four kills in the set. The Friars totaled three team blocks to the Wildcats' one.
In the following set, Providence battled but fell 25-23. Sophomore Abigail Dix (Gibsonia, Pa.) had a team-best four kills in the set. Junior Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) added 12 assists while senior Kelly Ashmore (St. Louis, Mo.) had seven digs.
The Wildcats won the match by winning the third set, 25-13. Villanova recorded a .417 hitting percentage in the set.
For the match, Wiesler finished with a team-best 19 assists. Ashmore registered a team-high 14 digs while sophomore Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) also reached double-digit digs, with 11.
Villanova was led by Lauren Carpenter who had 13 kills. Emma Pettit tallied 20 assists and Michelle Adams contributed 18 digs.
The Friars will next travel to DePaul on Friday, Nov. 7 and Marquette on Saturday, Nov. 8. The DePaul contest will start at 8:00 p.m. ET while the Marquette match will begin at 6:00 p.m. ET
