DURHAM, N.H. - The Providence College volleyball team was defeated by New Hampshire, 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-12), on Friday, Oct. 11. Providence record stands at 9-11, 2-2 America East, and New Hampshire improves to 9-11, 3-1 America East.

Junior Annie Russian (Round Rock, Texas) had a team-best four kills in the first set. Providence fell in the set 25-21.

The Friars were unable to grab the next two sets, losing 25-14 and 25-12. As a team Providence totaled 22 kills in the game and registered six block assists in the match.

Overall, sophomore Lindsay Witt (Basking Ridge, N.J.) led the Friars in kills with five. Sophomore Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) registered 17 assists and freshman Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) led the team in digs with 11.

New Hampshire was led by Tori Forrest who had 10 kills. Taylor Dunklau tallied 34 assists and Madison Lightfoot had a game-best 15 digs.

The Friars return to action on Sunday, Oct. 13, when they compete at UMass-Lowell. The match is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
