PROVIDENCE, R.I.-The Providence College men's swimming and diving team fell to the Villanova Wildcats on Saturday, Jan. 19, 158-71, in Providence, R.I.

Sophomores John Fatigati (Mahwah, N.J.) and Justin Tse (Framingham, Mass.) each collected a second and third place finish. Fatigati took second in the 200m IM (2:15.68) and third in the 200m backstroke (2:14.27). Tse earned a second place finish in the 200m freestyle, coming in at 1:59.31 and third in the 400m freestyle, touching the wall in 4:19.00. Junior Andrew St. Pierre (Fairhaven, Mass.) placed second in the 200m breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:39.03. Tse, seniors Eric Burtchell (Pawtucket, R.I.) and Marc Freda (Lincroft, N.J.) and Fatigati won the 400m freestyle relay with a time of 3:48.89.

Senior Ben Kardian (Valhalla, N.Y.) won both 1m diving events collecting 294.00 and 304.00 points. Kardian's 304.00 point effort qualified him for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.

The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will close out their home schedule next Saturday, Jan. 26, when they host the Holy Cross Crusaders at 11:00 a.m. at Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I.
