Women's Basketball To Host Fourth Annual Project Providence

On Monday, December 22 at 10:00 a.m. the Providence College women’s basketball team will hold the fourth annual Project Providence—“Forming the Future with the Friars.” This year’s event will welcome over 600 middle and elementary school students from around southern New England to Mullaney Gym/Alumni Hall. The occasion will feature informative speeches by the women’s basketball coaching staff, athletics trainers, student-athletes and Providence College spirit leaders. The event will be emceed by Providence College’s own John Carchedi.
The event will consist of various activities and speeches to educate students about basketball, strength and conditioning, proper nutrition, and the importance of education. Members of the Providence College cheerleading team also will be in attendance to teach the students some PC cheers. Each activity will be administered by a member of the PC Athletic Department. The educational program will be followed by a women’s basketball game featuring the University of Oakland Golden Grizzlies and the Providence College Friars at noon.
